Sam's Valley Vineyard, Rogue Valley AVA, The 2014 Ore Sangiovese was named one of Oregon's Top 50 Wines (of over 1200 Oregon wines tasted) by the Portland Monthly.  This Sangiovese features similar characteristics of violets, orange peel, green olives, sour cherry and fine tannin.  Mike uses an old world technique during fermentation called a submerged cap.  Instead of exacting color and tannin during fermentation by doing "punch downs", grape skins are kept submerge under the surface of the grape juice by a custom oak and stainless steel press, allow for slow, consistent and gentle skin extraction during fermentation.  The result is a Oregon Sangiovese with a velvety, violet and luscious mouth feel. 60 cases total production
